The Science of Contrast Therapy

The Sabai Package is built around the principle of contrast therapy — alternating between heat exposure and cold immersion. This practice triggers a cycle of vasodilation (during heat) and vasoconstriction (during cold), pumping blood through the muscles and tissues. Athletes and wellness practitioners use contrast therapy to support recovery, reduce perceived soreness, and promote a sense of alertness and well-being. Adding red light therapy (photobiomodulation) introduces a third modality that supports cellular energy production and tissue repair at the mitochondrial level.

Recommended Contrast Protocol

1. Sauna session: 15–20 minutes at 50–65°C (infrared)
2. Cold plunge: 2–5 minutes at 5–10°C
3. Red light therapy: 10–15 minutes standing or seated in front of the panel
4. Repeat the heat-cold cycle 2–3 times if desired

Space Requirements

The full Sabai Package requires approximately 4 × 3 meters of floor space to accommodate the sauna cabin, ice bath, and a clear area for the red light panel. The chiller can be positioned behind or beside the ice bath. All components run on standard 220V electrical outlets. ZenGlow handles delivery coordination to ensure all three items arrive and are installed together in a single visit.
